Chefs in the Classroom - Fundraiser Dinner

125.00

Join us for an intimate night at the Start Fresh Kitchen. We are pleased to present this event with much support from our community partners. All the profits will be donated to Chefs in the Classroom (http://www.okanaganchefs.com/in-the-classroom/).

Chefs in the Classroom – Edible Education is a program of the Okanagan Chefs Association, a non-profit organization.  The program was launched in school classrooms in the spring of 2016 with a mission to educate children in our community on how to grow, prepare and eat local foods.  It is a home-grown, Okanagan-inspired program that is geared to children at the grade 3 level.  The highlight of the 6-lesson plan is a field trip to a working farm with lunch hosted by our chefs and volunteer teams.

Chefs in the Classroom has reached more than 500 children over the past 3 years thanks to a dedicated team of volunteers, and our generous sponsors:  Mission Hill Family Estate, Kiwanis Club of Kelowna-Summit, Harmony Honda, Farris, Les Dames d’Escoffier, Bylands, Farm Credit Canada, and The Okanagan Table. Since at Start Fresh we are a like-minded non-profit, and eat-local advocate - hosting this fundraising dinner that benefits Chefs in the Classroom just felt right.  Special thanks to our own Restaurant Chef and Chefs in the Classroom team member Blake Bjornson for organizing this awesome night.

Co-hosted by: QB Gelato

There’s no sweeter way to end a meal (or a day) than with a delectable dessert… AND frankly, sometimes we think you might just want to go ahead and skip the meal and go straight to the dessert! From gelato to tarts to Canelés de Bordeaux, QB Gelato is more than just ‘cool treats’. Relax in the café, or on the patio, with a tea or espresso drink and dessert. Try our hot chocolate made with two ingredients – dark chocolate and milk, topped with whipped cream and hand-crafted marshmallows with orange blossom, just one of QB’s specialty’s. We work hard in making everything from scratch in our kitchen. Founded in Kelowna, we source our ingredients as locally as possible.  Proud to be collaborating with our neighbors across the street, Start Fresh Kitchen, in bringing you dessert for Chefs In the Classroom! – Victor & Kevin
